Stumptown
1982 LINCOLN AVE PASADENA, CA 91103
Stumptown is located on Lincoln in Pasadena, accessible from the 210.
The quality of the coffee is remarkable.
They offer a choice of different single-origin espressos
that make such a difference and rotate seasonally.
They don’t charge extra for additional milk options.
They are concerned about the environment,
giving you a discount if you have your drink in-house or bring your own cup.
The place is warm and well decorated, with three different options for seating:
outdoor, a mixed indoor/outdoor area, and indoor.
We would have preferred few tables on the back building,
the street is busy and the sidewalk narrow.
A parking lot is available, and street parking is very easy.
This is the only Stumptown you can find in the Los Angeles area, which is very lucky.
They have several shops in America —
five in Portland, three in New York, one in Kyoto, Japan, and only one in Los Angeles,
which is the one here.
They also offer beans to be purchased for home,
as well as other merchandise like cups and mugs.
Pastries are not overpriced, and even though we didn’t try them, they look pretty decent.
Stumptown is at the very top of our favorite experiences.
They know what they’re doing, and it shows in the quality of the drinks.
They open really early, like 6:30 during the week and 7:30 during the weekend,
which is another plus because in Pasadena there are very few options to get coffee at 6:30
— maybe Stumptown is number one.
